The Renault Fluence is a compact sedan that is manufactured by the French brand and goes up against the likes of the Nissan Sentra and Mazda 3. Cruising the streets of the U.A.E. since 2011, it’s the Korean import that we get out here, with two engine choices on offer.
Up front, the Fluence flaunts a rather taut expression with its wrap around oval headlamps, depressed chrome grille and prominent contours along the hood. Character lines that start at the headlamps and zoom down the length of the car, add pizzaz to the otherwise not-so-exciting side profile of the compact sedan.
Two engine choices are on offer; a 1.6 litre unit that churns out 117 horsepower at 6,000 RPM and a larger 2.0 litre engine that provides 26 horsepower more. Although their top speeds aren’t vastly different, the 0 – 100 km/h times for the 1.6 litre and 2.0 litre variants are 11.9 seconds and 10.1 seconds respectively.
